Indian Air Force’s AN-32 goes missing with 29 people

The plane AN-32 was Russian-Made it is used as a transport plane. It was designed to fly for up to four hours without refueling. The plane took off at 8:30AM from Tambaram, Chennai for Port Blair in the Andaman & Nicobar Island and after 16 minutes, the plane lost radar contact. Its estimated time of arrival in Port Blair was 11:30AM. With immediate action, the Navy, the Coast Guard and the India Air Force have launched joint rescue operation to find AN-32.

The air craft was carrying six crew members and service personnel to an island near Malacca Straits, Indian Military base. As per officials, one P-8I surveillance aircraft, one Dornier and four ships – Karmukh, Gharial, Jyoti and Kuthar were deployed in the rescue operation.
